Back when I was training in Santa Monica on occasion I would take clients down to the old Muscle Beach sight and have them try the traveling rings course. There are only two courses in the U.S. that I’m aware of, which is a shame because they are such great tools for developing upper body pulling strength, shoulder stability, grip strength, and general body control. All qualities important for sports and daily activities, yet often neglected in most gyms.
So naturally with EFL’s unique arrangement of posts and rafters I immediately began working out ways to have a similar, albeit smaller setup. And today that wish became reality with some custom made mini-climbing ropes. Have a look at our newly installed traveling rope section.
Whether or not you can swing across without touching the floor determines Tarzan or Jane status.
In another week we’ll also have rings to be used interchangably with the ropes and rock climbing holds so that we can adjust the difficulty level to suit just about anyone, and also create some interesting mix and match possibilities.
